Welcome to EMERGE — SHRM Tulsa’s group-style mentorship program designed to connect emerging HR professionals with experienced HR leaders in a collaborative and engaging environment. Unlike traditional one-on-one mentoring programs, EMERGE gives all mentors and mentees the opportunity to learn from and interact with one another throughout the program experience.
The 2026 EMERGE program is anticipated to run from August through November, with in-person meetings taking place once per month in Tulsa, typically from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Final meeting dates, times, and program details will be shared with selected participants.
Mentee applicants should have approximately 1–4 years of HR experience. This refers specifically to experience working in Human Resources, not overall professional experience. You do not need to be a recent college graduate to participate, but you should be in the early stages of your HR career.
We typically look for mentor applicants with at least 8 years of HR experience. However, we know that years of experience are not the only thing that make a great mentor. If you have less than 8 years of HR experience but are passionate about supporting and developing emerging HR professionals, we still encourage you to apply. We would love the opportunity to learn more about your background, experiences, and how you may be able to positively impact our mentees.
Traditionally, EMERGE has been an exclusive benefit for SHRM Tulsa members. However, this year we are excited to open a limited number of spots to non-members as well. Space is limited, so we encourage interested applicants to apply early.
